The crafty mum, from Northern Ireland, took to social media to demonstrate how she gave her white window sills a brand new look ''on a budget''.

Instead of spending hundreds, Kirby had found a £2 buy from the high street and renovated the area herself - the process of which took her just ten minutes.

According to the thrifty parent, who also loves all things beauty, she'd used Poundland's PEP&CO Home Self Adhesive Decorative Vinyl Roll 2m in a light wooden effect, which cost her under a fiver.

The roll, which is also available in different colours, such as black and light grey, is oil-proof, easy to apply and waterproof - so you can water your indoor plants with no fears it will destroy the vinyl in any way.

Kirby's original window sill, she shared in the video on TikTok, was covered in paint, as well as some split was from a burner, which she wanted to cover.

First, the crafts fanatic started by measuring the roll to ensure if fit the area properly and used her fingers to mark the area by the corners before cutting the roll.

A pro tip she added was also to ''give yourself a couple of centimetres just to go around the bottom of the sill''.

''Just as simple as that,'' said Kirby, who explained that the back of the vinyl roll ''doesn't come off until you're peeling it off''.

''So easily done, honestly. Give it a go.

''You'll be surprised how easy it is.''

Posting the bargain makeover on the platform, the savvy mum noted that if you're not satisfied with the results, the roll ''comes off easily enough''.

''I would definitely do this rather than gloss and then have to redo that.

''On a budget but want to make the sills look better? Instant upgrade with vinyl wrap,'' Kirby wrote in the caption.

''This cost me £2 from Poundland and I didn't use much from the roll.''

Since being shared online just a day ago, the budget-friendly windowsill glow-up has already racked up close to a whopping 315k views, with dozens praising the parent.

One savvy TikTok user said: ''Looks good. If you put silicone round the edges it will help stop it from lifting when your bathroom gets steamy.''

Someone else, meanwhile, felt so inspired by the makeover, they were keen to try out the £2 hack themselves.

''Omg, I'm going to Poundland ASAP, my window sills are horrible.''

''Looks lovely just don't put any heat on it. I did and the whole thing caught fire! The heat source was my slow cooker,'' a third warned.

''Oh, I love this!! I have horrible plastic ones. This will be perfect,'' another chimed in.

However, not everyone was impressed with the quality of the bargain deal, as one Poundland fanatic claimed the roll didn't last.

''I got these but I keep ripping cause they [are] really thin.''
