26-year-old Celene Francis, a single mother who lives in a two-bedroom council house in Rotherham, took to social media to share her simple trick - but it’s left people divided.

Posting online, Celene shared her clip with the caption ‘A little tip for when painting. I was so late to finding this out but it saves on cleaning and mess’.

As she showed off her paint tray, she said: “So I just wanted to show you a little tip that I use when painting.

“Obviously you took your packaging off, you bought one of these [roller trays], you've got your roller in it.

“What I always do is, I never put the paint in this tray directly.”

Instead of putting paint directly into the tray, Celene explained: “So this is the wrapper that it came in - take the wrapper and pop it back on your tray.

“Then when the plastic sheet is on, put your paint in there, roll it like you would.

“And then once you're finished, you can take the plastic sheet off, and then you've got a nice clean tray.”

But social media users were divided by the trick - while some praised the idea, others weren’t so keen.
