The HBO series made its debut in 1999 and ran for six series before its axe in 2007.

James' real-life son Michael stepped into his dad's role as he played a young Tony Soprano.

However, the show's creator David Chase has confirmed there are no more projects in the works.

Speaking to TV Insider, he simply said: “No. The prequel was it.”

HBO's chief content officer Casey Bloys had previously cast doubt on any future instalments.

He said: “I don’t think David has any interest in revisiting The Sopranos. And I would agree with him.

"It’s a perfect series that I don’t think needs revisiting. But we’ll see what he wants to do next.”
