Man killed after ‘gang chase with tomahawk axe’ & two fighting for lives as attacker still on loose over 6 HOURS later
A MAN has been killed and two others are fighting for their life with eyewitnesses claiming to see a "gang chasing a man with a tomahawk axe".
Cops scrambled to Birkbeck Road in Acton, London, in the early hours of Sunday morning after reports of a "disturbance" in the area.
A man was found injured at the scene but despite the efforts of the emergency services, he died a short time later.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said two people were taken to major trauma centres as priorities.
The force said a large crime scene was in place including a number of road closures.
Eyewitnesses told Metro that shortly before police arrived they saw a "gang of four" chasing a man through the area.

They claimed that one was allegedly swinging a tomahawk axe while others brandished broken bottles.
One witness, a waiter who claimed he called the police, told the outlet that the victim had a gash above his eye with blood pouring out as he was surrounded.
The 24-year-old told Metro: "I was watching a horrific film and then I heard screaming from the street at first I thought it was on the TV. Then I looked out and heard someone shouting “come on, come here.
"I looked out and there was a man swinging and running after a middle aged guy. He had an injury above his eyebrow. Others chasing him had bottles.
"They were really going for him. As they were attacking him I was on the phone to the police describing what was happening."
It is understood that no arrests have been made yet.
Several other people are believed to have been injured with some receiving treatment.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.06am on Sunday 8 December to reports of an incident on Birkbeck Road.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, one person died at the scene. Two patients were taken as priorities to major trauma centres.”
A Met Police statement read: "At 04:05hrs on Sunday, 8 December police were called to reports of a disturbance ongoing in Birkbeck Road, Acton.
"Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found a man injured at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died a short time later.
"A number of other people are believed to have been injured nearby with some receiving treatment. The public can expect to see a significant police presence in the area as officers begin their investigation.
"A large crime scene is in place including a number of road closures. While we recognise the impact this will have on local residents and businesses, it is essential to provide us with the best chance to secure evidence.
