Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is “very interested” in bringing Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt to Old Trafford.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Ten Hag is very interested in reuniting with De Ligt whom he coached during their time at Ajax.
The report adds that the centre-back may become a top target for the Red Devils in the summer if the Dutch tactician remains at the club beyond the end of the season.
The Netherlands international is likely to leave Bayern if another defender is brought in at the Allianz Arena.
Argentine wonderkid Valentin Barco has confirmed he is joining Brighton this month and is hoping to hit the ground running, reports SunSport's Jack Rosser.
The Seagulls are yet to announce the move but have agreed a £7.8million deal with South American side Boca Juniors.
Barco told ESPN: “I’m already a Brighton player. It’s a totally different kind of football than here. I’ll have to adapt, I hope it’s quick. Wherever the team and the coach need me, I’m going to do it.
Premier League champions Manchester City had been keen on the 19-year-old but Brighton have an immense track record of success with South American talent.
Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister both arrived at The Amex for bargain fees before being sold on for a huge profit last summer.
Brentford are closing in on a loan move for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon, reports SunSport's Tom Barclay.
The Spaniard, 27, had initially been hesitant over a switch to the Gtech and was hoping for a move back to Spain.
That was after representing some of Europe's elite clubs in Real Madrid, Tottenham , Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, where he spent the first half of the season on loan.
But Reguilon appears to have since been convinced of a move to West London, where he should get regular game-time given Rico Henry's absence through injury.
Reguilon returned from Old Trafford earlier this month having made 12 appearances while Luke Shaw was out injured.
But he is not in Ange Postecoglou's plans so will be allowed to go out temporarily again, with Thomas Frank's Bees his expected destination.
In terms of the plan laid out by the owners, there’s not a chance in a million Mourinho comes back. If you look at the plan of the club, that’s not Jose Mourinho. It’s not his style. He does other things which are fantastic but the last time he built up a young group like that was Porto. That’s not his methodology.
If the club did go down that route I would be surprised but I wouldn’t be gobsmacked because there are things that the club have done which doesn’t fit. I don’t think it would make sense at all for Mourinho to come back as Chelsea manager but does that mean it won’t happen? Who knows!
If it was me, it wouldn’t be Jose Mourinho I would be looking at as manager. [Mauricio] Pochettino is great, me saying that might hurt some Chelsea fans. At the end of last season when Chelsea were looking for a manager, Ange Postecoglou was the man I wanted because of what he had done in Scotland. Those types of managers are difficult to find because you need a manager that’s positive and can get the best out of young players.
Jose Mourinho hit out at officials and managers towards the end of his Roma tenure, which was marred by ill discipline as he received three red cards last season and three more this term.
Mourinho was sent off against rivals Lazio, Atalanta and Monza, after which he told opposite number Raffaele Palladino: “You talk a lot and then you cry.”
Last term, the Portuguese tactician tore into Serie A whistler Daniele Chiffi after claiming to have "worn a wire" in order to protect himself from sanctions.
The ex-Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham boss said of Chiffi: "He is the worst referee I have met in my life. He is the worst. Technically he’s horrible. Zero empathy. Zero communication. Zero awareness.”
As his tenure began to unravel, the Italian media also found themselves in the former Real Madrid manager's firing line.
Following a 2-1 win over Sassuolo last month he refused to speak Italian after the match, despite being fluent and instead he bizarrely only spoke Portuguese, with an interpreter translating for confused local reporters.
A few weeks later things spiralled even further, with the 60-year-old snubbing the media altogether after his red card against Atalanta.
Jose Mourinho doesn't have the same draw he had in the the last couple of decades, however there are still some top-level clubs that could sign the Special One after his dismissal from Roma:
Jose Mourinho may not be out of work for long after being sacked by Roma.
Mourinho has been previously targeted by Newcastle with current manager Eddie Howe under pressure.
The ex-Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea boss was also rumoured to be a candidate for the Brazil job before the Selecao appointed Dorival Junior.
The Giallorossi are expected to payout £3million to the Portuguese tactician, according to the Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho was sacked as manager of Roma following a run of poor results.
Mourinho spent two-and-a-half years in charge of the Giallorossi and won the Europa Conference League in his first season while making it to the Europa League Final last term.
But the ex-Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss struggled in Serie A, finishing sixth twice in his two full seasons in charge.
Roma are now ninth in the table after winning only one of their last six league matches, of which they lost three.
Mourinho was spotted leaving the club's training ground after his dimsissal with tears in his eyes while fans gave him a touching farewell.
Roy Hodgson admits Crystal Palace would love to sign Kalvin Phillips on loan.
Roy said: "He’s a good player. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a name that’s out there. All we know, like most other clubs, is that there is a possibility that Man City will either sell him or loan him.
“If they are purely going to sell him, then I don’t think we will be in the market. If they’re going to loan him, I would like to think that we could possibly put our hand up and push ourselves forward.
“What we could then of course offer is the chance to play regular football in the Premiership in the build-up to what will be a very important summer for England and for him."
Radu Dragusin has confirmed he did indeed snub Bayern Munich to sign for Tottenham.
The defender said: "Yes, that is right I chose Tottenham because I felt it was the right step for me and I had a really good conversation with the coach.
"I saw that they wanted me from a long time ago, like one month before the transfer window, so I thought this is the right choice for me.
"My dream was to play in the Premier League, so that was part of it."
