Fashion designer’s square-toed £470 heels are brutally mocked as people reckon they’re ‘perfect for killing cockroaches’
AN UPCOMING fashion designer has left style lovers totally divided with a new pair of square heels that cost an eye-watering £470.
The Nigerian-born and London-raised designer Tia Adeola is the found of her very own fashion brand Tia Adeola - which has even landed her a well-deserved spot in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
The young star, from New York, the USA, started the journey in her dorm room creating fun designs for her pals - and what started off as something purely ''for fun'' has since grown beyond her ''wildest dreams''.
''I work round the clock and never really stop to think about my accomplishments so it feels good to be recognized for what I’ve built thus far,'' she recently shared on Instagram.
The fashion enthusiast, whose brand has won over an astronomical 90k followers, aims to ''rewrite history through fashion, particularly for people of colour''.
The clothing and accessory ranges from gorgeous ruffle dresses to frocks with a newspaper print, gorgeous lace jumpsuits and white feather dresses that are sure to make heads turn.

However, whilst Tia has already made headlines across the world, including features and mentions in Vogue, Elle and Vice, the young star has recently gone viral for different reasons - one of her latest heel designs.
The Q-T heel, which sells for over £450, features a square toe and has been made in collaboration with Berlin-based designer Toni Dathe, Culture Icon TV reported.
Two years in the making, this daring design is said to combine a classic toe box with a square shaped sole - and we reckon it'd be perfect if you're after comfort and style.
Available in a range of colours, such as brown, white, chrome and pastel blue, the heels also boast sustainable materials, including grape leather, as well as leftover grape skin from the winemaking process - a strong statement against the wasteful fast fashion culture.
But whilst the eco-friendly heel design has already found itself a number of fans on social media, it seems that not everyone will be racing to order a pair.
According to some, the daring footwear is more than just a great wardrobe staple to have - the heels serve a totally different purpose too.
''Perfect for killing insects hidden at the edge of the room,'' one person chuckled.
Another chuckled by the video: ''When you got a date at 7 but snorkelling at 8.''
Someone else joked: ''Snow shovelers.''
''I have conflicted feelings about this,'' a fourth couldn't figure out if they wanted to bag the daring heels.
Luckily for the fashion star, there's also been plenty of praise, as some have described the heels as ''remarkably beautiful''.
''Lady Gaga would for sure rock these,'' one fan was convinced.
''I kinda like them. They are quirky,'' another chimed in.

Although the fashion pro is yet to hit back at the harsh critics, it looks like there's no stopping her any time soon - and we cannot wait to see what she comes up with in 2024.
''I love creating new things and I’m always up for a challenge!''
