I’m going to be a millionaire after Rich House, Poor House dad gave me £550k for sex toy business – he’s changed my life
A SINGLE mum whose life was changed after appearing on Rich House Poor House has revealed how she’s been given £550,000 from the multimillionaire on the show.
Ocean Chapman, 29, and nine-year-old daughter Oziana swapped lives for a week with wealthy entrepreneur Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, who is worth nearly £200m.
Following the Channel 5 show, Barrie has pledged to help Ocean not only leave her Essex council flat but to “become a millionaire” herself through a new business venture.
Initially he had said he’d put £250,000 into a baby food business, but they are now working on a sex toy company called The Spot instead - and he’s invested a lot more money.
Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, Ocean revealed: “Barrie has said to me that no matter what we do, he’s going to go out of his way to turn me into a millionaire.
“He approached me with the sex toy idea and I said I’d so be on joining that, as it’s an industry that I’m already interested in anyway.

“I’m not really shy and it’s great for women empowerment, pleasure for women is key.”
The Spot is aiming to launch in February 2024, and it’ll hopefully enable Ocean to quit her barmaid job and work as a CEO of the business, alongside Barrie.
On the TV show, Ocean revealed how she usually scrapes by on just £59 a week, so she’s hoping the new business will change her and her daughter’s life dramatically.
The mum broke down in tears when Barrie pledged to invest £250,000 in her, and she can’t believe that figure has since doubled.
Speaking of the businessman’s generosity, Ocean said: “The initial amount Barrie was going to give was £250,000, but after manufacturing and all the other costs, it currently stands at £550,000.
“I feel really excited and grateful that Barrie is willing to invest that much in me, and so much more than was initially agreed.
“I feel grateful that he sees something [in me].
“Once the sex toy business launches, I’ll be in a better place financially, but my life has already changed for the better, I feel more confident in myself too.
“My big dream is to be able to have enough money to buy me and my daughter our own house.”
Barrie and ex-husband Tony were Britain's first gay dads, fathering a twin boy and girl through surrogacy, and have made their fortune from various business ventures including a trans-Atlantic surrogacy business and a global medical research company.
The couple split in 2019, after Barrie confirmed he had fallen for daughter Saffron’s ex Scott.
Currently Ocean and Barrie have been busy with the design, packaging, marketing and website for the business.
She said: “We are already in production, we’ve been working with the designers and clinical trials, I know Barrie specialises in stuff like that.
“We have a website being made as well.”
One of her personal favourite products from the collection is a sex toy named after herself.
She explained: “There is one that we’ve called the Ocean Special, it’s like a wand but vibrates at both ends, so one is penetration and one is stimulation.
“I chose to design that one and I think it’ll be a very good seller with the ladies.”
Ocean and Barrie have grown so close after filming that when he comes over to the UK for a two-week visit, she will see him around three times.
Ocean, who says strangers now recognise her in the street after doing RHPH, continued: “I speak to him all the time, he invites me and my daughter round for lunches and dinners.
“When he is over in the UK, when he is over here, in the two weeks he’s here, we see him two or three times, go round his for Sunday dinners as they always have a big family Sunday dinner.
“He always sends a car to come and pick me and my daughter up.
“All the big parties he does he always invites me, it’s really nice, we’ve built a really nice friendship.”
Speaking of why they pivoted from baby food to a sex toy company, Barrie said: “I had been working with Ocean for the past six months since we filmed the RHPH show and was determined to help her start a business in the food industry but we found that we were getting nowhere.
“Ocean is a really driven woman and wants to do well for her daughter so when I mentioned about The Spot, my new sex toy business, she said she was interested to learn more.
“After a few weeks of talking about it and what we were planning to do with the company, I thought I would ask her to join, and she was on it like a duck to water.
“Being a user of most of the toys herself, she could appreciate that there is a huge market for these types of products and the industry is a £5 billion a year business, so huge potential.”
The Spot will aim to sell everything from vibrators to wands and lubricant, and prices will be "accessible for all budgets".
Barrie added: “We have a toy range of 11 toys to start with and we will expand as we see the business demand.
“They will initially be sold on our website but we are planning to do home parties too and we are looking for party hosts around the country to host one of our parties.
“We will also be stocking in some sex shops around the UK and USA and we have also lined up some celebrity endorsements too – stay tuned for that.”
Barrie is determined to make the business a success, not only for himself but also for Ocean.
He said: “Ocean has become one of my best friends. We are very close.
“She is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I'm looking forward to working with her more over the coming years.
“I am determined to see her become a millionaire, she deserves it.”
The pair also hope to make a follow-up TV show sharing their next steps as business owners together.
