‘Class job’ people say as woman shows off council house which she transformed for next to nothing with Asda & B&Q buys
A WOMAN has proudly showed off her ‘new’ council house kitchen, leaving many totally stunned.
DIY enthusiast Melissa, who is from Belfast, gave her once dull space a total transformation, whilst on a budget.
Melisa took to social media to show off a before, during and after look of her kitchen makeover.
Using paint and vinyl wrap, Melissa was able to give her kitchen the ultimate glow up, without having to splash too much cash.
She confirmed that she nabbed bargains from the high-street for her council house’s transformation, including vinyl wrap and paint from B&Q.
Not only this, but she also explained that she got her kitchen essentials from Asda and her cupboard handles from Amazon, keeping her costs low.

In the short video, we saw Melissa take her cupboard doors off, as she painted them using a Rust Oleum furniture paint in the shade Hessian.
She confirmed: “I used two tubs of paint and they were £19 each.”
As well as this, Melissa then used vinyl wrap, which she also got from B&Q, to transform her kitchen countertops.
The once black countertops were quickly transformed, as she added: “I used three rolls of vinyl (I could have used two but I wasted a bit getting the lengths wrong). It was £12 a roll.”
Melissa later explained that she got her chic black cupboard handles from Amazon, which give the kitchen a modern feel compared to the silver handles that she had before.
She also treated herself to a chic kettle and toaster from Asda, adding glamour to the now perfect, neural space.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @melissaa2315, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 43,900 views.
Social media users were stunned at the kitchen’s overhaul and were keen to express this in the comments.
One person said: “This actually looks lovely.”
Another added: “Love it, you’ve done such a good job.”
A third commented: “Looks great.”
Meanwhile, someone else asked: “Was it hard to put the vinyl wrap down? Class job.”
In response, Melissa explained: “Yeah it was a bit hard, especially round the sink, but a bit of silicon around the sink and it looks fine.”
As well as this, another user questioned: “Love it, did you sand or prime or anything? I’m not sure the best way to.”
To this, Melissa confirmed: “No, I just wiped it all down with sugar soap and then painted with a mini roller.”
At the same time, another user wondered: “Love this flooring! Where's it from?”
