Life’s hard when you’re not a skinny hourglass figure, my Christmas party dress gives waist but exposes me from the side
A STYLE-ENTHUSIAST has admitted that she was skeptical of being able to find a festive dress that flattered her curvy figure.
She went to House of CB to try on a selection of Christmas party dresses that she had seen on their website.
Georgie (@georgiejxmes) has garnered over 63,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty and fashion finds.
She visited House of CB’s store in London after picking out three eye-catching looks on the women’s clothing brand website.
“Even those without skinny hourglass figures need dresses for our Christmas party,” she said.
“Do House of CB have any for us?”
Strapless midi dress
Georgie raved about the “classy” look of the brand’s Lady black strapless midi dress before trying it on.
The $285 dress is available in cup sizes A to E with a sculpted bodice and voluminous skirt.
The brand claims it’s suitable for date nights, weddings, and glam events.
“This is super classy in real life as well,” she said while posing in the changing room.
She used an emoji to cover her breast as the plunging neckline showed more of her body than she had anticipated.
“When I turned to the side I was a little bit exposed,” she said.
"It’s so heavy but I think that’s a good sign.
“It really keeps you in as well. It gave me a waist, can you believe that?
“Super flattering.”
Long-sleeve corset
Georgie didn’t realize the next top she tried on was viral on social media until she got home.
House of CB’s Noa black velvet corset costs $165 and has internal boning to cinch the figure.
“I tried it on completely wrong,” Georgie said. “I put the lace-up bit at the front and was like why is the back so baggy?
“Oh my gosh, the shoulders were so funny.
“I thought my way looked cuter. Anne Boleyn, girl your time has come.”
Red maxi dress
Georgie continued the shopping haul by trying on House of CB’s Lavele red bow maxi dress for $285.
The statement dress is available in sizes ranging from XS to L+ and is suggested by the brand to be styled with heels and an embellished clutch.
“This one is your classic red Christmas dress with the bows to match,” Georgie said.
“I was a bit nervous about this one because there are cut-outs at the hips, it’s backless, and the leg is exposed.
“This was actually quite modest and emphasized the curves.
“If you have back rolls those are exposed too.
“It’s great for a** shaking and you can bust a move at the Christmas party in this.”
Faux fur trim LBD
The fashionista finished the haul with the brand’s Keilani mini dress for $285, which is available in two different lengths.
“Now we have the classic little black Christmas dress,” she said.
“This was surprisingly supportive, brought the tummy in, and gave me a waist.
“This might be my favorite House of CB dress that I’ve ever tried on. The Christmas dress designers ate.”
Almost 20,000 people watched the shopping haul and it received thousands of likes.
“House of CB Christmas collection try on! Do they have dresses for all body types?” Georgie captioned the post.
Many people took to the comment section thanking her for sharing her opinion on each of the dresses and complimenting her looks.
“Loved the last little black dress on you,” one person wrote.
