Hong Kong YouTuber Carriage Lau jailed for 5½ months for molesting 7 teenage girls, woman

He rejected the defence argument that a government psychologist’s findings on Lau’s risk of reoffending only represented a “subjective” view on the matter.

Lau was sentenced to four to six weeks for each of the eight counts of indecent assault and one of common assault, to which he pleaded guilty last month, totalling 24 weeks.

The internet personality is expected to complete his sentence soon, having been remanded in custody since his last arrest early this year.

Six of Lau’s victims were junior secondary school pupils aged between 13 and 16, with the other two being an 18-year-old university student and a 25-year-old clerk, the court heard.

Lau was first arrested on November 30 last year, a day after assaulting two 14-year-old girls in Tin Shui Wai.

He committed further offences after securing bail from police, groping a 16-year-old on December 7 before attacking the remaining victims in Tin Shui Wai, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun in five days.

Lau was convicted of criminal intimidation, as well as sexual and violence-related offences, in the past.

In August 2023, Lau was jailed for five weeks for molesting three girls aged between 13 and 15 in Tin Shui Wai.
