A bargain hunter spotted the tins on sale in their local M&S and had to share the find.

Writing on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group they said: "Just got a few of these for family, £2.50 M&S in Merry Hill Dudley."

They shared a photo of the tin in the post, which received 134 likes and 58 comments.

One said: "It's sooo pretty, isn't it? I picked one up yesterday at £5 it plays music too I wish I'd picked up more."

Another commented: "I received this! It's lovely."

A third wrote: "So beautiful with the projector and melody."

And a fourth said: "Got mine from the White Rose Centre they were flying out today!"

Others were disappointed they'd paid full price pre-Christmas.

One commented: "I got one at full price just before Christmas wish I hadn't bothered."

Another also wrote: "Gutted I bought 2 before Christmas and they were £10 each."

And a third said: "I should have waited I paid £10 before Christmas."

It's worth bearing in mind though that these shortbread biscuits won't likely last until next Christmas.

The original poster confirmed that the tin she picked up has a best-before date of March 2024.

Although the tin of course has multiple uses and could be a great night light for a child.

They also serve as a pretty ornament to add to your Christmas decorations collection.

The tins were first introduced back in 2022.

New versions of the light-up tins are released each year, and Christmas lovers go wild for them every time.

You can buy the tin in store at M&S where you'll find it on the food hall shelves.

You can find your nearest M&S using the store finder tool.

Further options were also introduced this year as well, including a hot chocolate house, a gold tea house and a shortbread house.

Each of the metal boxes light up creating the perfect Christmas decoration, as well as providing some tasty treats.

If you are thinking of bagging one of the tins though, you should have a quick shop around first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

In the past, Waitrose has sold a mini-musical shortbread tin for £3.75.

But we haven't managed to find any other similar products on sale this year.
