Body found in search for missing nurse Victoria Taylor

Police looking for missing woman Victoria Taylor have found a body close to where she was last seen.

The 34-year-old nurse was last seen on 30 September after she left her home in Malton, North Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Fox said underwater search teams found the body in the River Derwent on Tuesday.

He said it was located close to where a number of Ms Taylor's personal possessions had been found.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but Ms Taylor's family have been informed, who, Assistant Chief Constable Fox said are "understandably, they are distressed by today's news".

Ms Taylor had been seen on CCTV walking towards a play park near the water's edge - and earlier at a BP garage, where she bought several items.
