I was shocked at my date’s WhatsApp behavior when I was 2 minutes late to a date – he tried to claim it was ‘glitchy’

DATING can be a stressful experience, especially if your date is more strict than your high school teachers were about punctuality.

One woman couldn't believe the weird reaction her Hinge match had when she was two minutes late to meet up.

In her viral video, Jenny (@jennyisthegreatest) recounted the events of the evening for her followers.

The TikToker explained that she and the unnamed man had arranged to meet in the center of London to have dinner.

Jenny messaged her date to let him know that she was leaving the house at 5:30 pm and should be on time for their date at 6:15 pm.

As she was on the London Underground, she didn't have any reception until she arrived at the meeting place.

When she took out her phone to message her date at 6:17 pm, Jenny noticed two texts from her date.

In the first message, he explained that he was going to drop his bag off at his gym ahead of the date.

When Jenny didn't reply to this WhatsApp, her date messaged her again to ask if she was pranking him.

As she typed out a message to let him know she had arrived, she noticed that his WhatsApp profile picture had disappeared.

After sending the text, Jenny realized it wasn't delivered with two checkmarks like her previous messages.

She immediately assumed that her date must have blocked her for being two minutes late.

Jenny decided to go ahead and get food by herself and as she waited on her order, she checked her Hinge account to see if the man had unmatched.

When she realized she was still able to message him on the dating app she sent him a text to say she was at the restaurant.

Within minutes her date replied to her on WhatsApp, letting her know he was nearby.

The pair met up and she poked fun at him for his odd reaction to her being late.

However, her date pretended to not know what she was talking about when she brought up how he had blocked her on WhatsApp.

"My WhatsApp is really glitchy, all my friends say that sometimes they can’t see my photo for some reason, I don’t know why," her date said.

Jenny recalled how he was "stuttering and nervous" as he lied about his behavior.

She joked that she dodged a bullet, calling the man "so sensitive."

Her followers shared their thoughts on the situation in the comments section.
