‘He could’ve been seriously hurt’ says mum issuing urgent warning after ‘lucky escape’ for her son
A MUM has issued an urgent warning to other parents after her son had a "lucky escape" when he pulled over a chest of drawers.
Shayna explained that she had an ominous feeling when she heard a "loud noise" from her bedroom upstairs.
When she got up there, she saw that her son Brayden had opened up all the drawers, "tried to climb up and the dresser toppled over".
"Luckily, he managed to escape it and just got his leg stuck in the gap between the bottom drawer & the floor (not actually stuck under the dresser by the grace of God)," she continued in the caption for her Instagram video.
And while she has strapped all her kids' chests of drawers to the wall, Shayna admitted she "honestly never thought to do ours".
"This one was so hard for me to share," she concluded.

"Total mum fail & it freaking mortifies me that he could’ve been SERIOUSLY hurt."
She urged other parents to learn from her mistakes, and admitted she was going to spend the rest of her day "securing all the things to walls".
Writing over the top of the video, Shayna called it the "scariest moment of my life".
And the comments section was quickly filled with people weighing in on the terrifying situation, with one writing: "We also put magnetic locks on the inside of drawers for kid proofing so they can’t open them all.
"Super easy for extra peace of mind."
"When I got a dresser this size from IKEA they wouldn’t let me in the section to pick it up without signing a form that said I would definitely secure it to the wall," another said.
"I don’t even have kids!"
"Children die from furniture falling on them all the time that's why they should come with anchor points," a third commented.
"There's a law in Australia about it."
"I just sent this to my husband and hadn’t read the caption yet but our son has been interested in our dresser," someone else wrote.
"After I sent it to him I said to myself let me just read the caption.
"My son’s name is Brayden also and this I KNOW was a sign.
"I am so glad that your Brayden is okay and thank you for sharing!"
"Growing up my neighbor’s child died from a dresser falling on him," another said.
"He was 3. We have everything secured.
