In particular, India saw a sharp increase in gas consumption for electricity generation, driven by abnormally high temperatures in the summer of 2024. In South America, especially in Brazil and Colombia, drought limited hydroelectric power generation, leading to an increased need for gas-fired power plants. In Europe, gas demand also recovered slightly.
