‘Stuff of nightmares,’ people say as stunned woman discovers huge ‘secret room’ under her home with worrying smell
A WOMAN was stunned to discover a secret room "as big as her flat" underneath her home - but it had a worrying smell.
Erin Cloudy was working on a renovation project within her Sussex property when she stumbled across the massive underground space.
The content creator posted eerie footage on TikTok, and it has since amassed a staggering 10.3million views within less than 24hours.
Erin filmed herself walking down a stone staircase and crouching to fit through a narrow gap to step into the hidden passageway.
She wondered down a secret corridor and found an old door that used to connect onto the street outside.
The shocked homeowner finally reached the concealed basement, which boasted a ginormous fireplace, large living space and boarded up windows.

She captioned the post and wrote: "So my flat is 'basement flat', there has been no mention of anything underneath me, verbally or on the deeds.
"We were curious about storage under the stairs and decided to take a look.
"Once we broke through, and found the stairs, we explored a lot of weird underground tunnels that smell like s***.
"Navigated through dead end corridors and the massive built box in the middle of the room which is padlocked.
"We found this beautiful room directly under my living room. After speaking to my new neighbours, turns out the basement underneath mine was allegedly [a suspected cannabis factory] about 10 or 15 years ago and it was raided and sealed."
Erin used a leaf and lightbulb emoji to signal she was referring to alleged illegal basement activities.
"We've since found two more mystery doors and another stair case outside that leads down to the lower basement, which I will definitely be checking out soon," she added.
"I own the leasehold but there is a freeholder. What do I do? Is it mine? Do I claim it? Help", she asked.
In the video, the man with Erin can be heard saying: "It's as big as your flat down here."
"It's as big as my flat," she added.
"There's a door there that goes out onto the street," he continued.
Social media users were gobsmacked at the footage and the post has since racked up nearly 9,000 comments.
One baffled viewer wrote: "Girl, you found a whole new house."
"A whole secret room is INSANE", agreed another.
"The way I GASPED when I saw the whole room," added a third.
Someone else said: "I wanted to find something like this in my house as a child so bad."
Others were more sceptical about the underground area, one commented: "Absolutely not. I've seen Barbarian. I'd seal it up and move out".
"My only thought was 'somebody has been killed there'", penned another scared social media user.

There were mixed responses whether Erin should contact a solicitor or just keep the space for herself and use it for storage.
Some thought the working electricity and fire rated board on the ceiling suggested Erin already knew about the space before filming.
