Snooker star Marco Fu joins exclusive club as he achieves World Championship feat managed only once 35 YEARS AGO

SNOOKER star Marco Fu joined an exclusive club after he achieved an incredible World Championship feat managed just one time 35 years ago.

The amazing moment came in Fu's qualifying match against Ben Mertens on Thursday.

The pair went head-to-head with a place at the Crucible at stake.

And it was Fu who took advantage as he raced into a 5-0 lead.

But the world No70 amazed fans with an amazing feat of skill for the fifth frame.

Fu record a score of 139 after a total 16-red clearance.

It’s just the second time it’s ever happened in World Championship history.

And the last time it occurred was a whole 35 years ago.

That was when Steve James accomplished the stunning feat in his win over Alex Higgins in 1990.

Fu’s effort was also just the seventh time a 16-red break had ever happened in pro competition.
