Who Wants to be a Millionaire contestant mortified after using lifeline to call wife – and ‘mystery man’ picks up phone
A CONTESTANT on Who Wants to be a Millionaire was left embarrassed when he called his wife with a question and a strange man answered the phone.
Participants on the show are posed multiple choice questions, and have to answer fifteen correctly to win the huge cash prize.
However, one wrong answer and they are ejected from the game.
Players have a number of different lifelines available to them, including one called Phone A Friend where they can ring a person of choice and ask for their input.
Science teacher JP Morgan was on the show in 2020 when he decided to seek help from his wife after being posed a question that left him scratching his head.
He was asked which days were part of the weekend in Germany, with options A) Donnerstag, B) Mittwoch, C) Sonntag, or D) Dienstag.

The puzzled man told the show host: "My wife's auntie has lived in Germany for over 50 years, my wife's been there a few times. My wife, who at different times would probably have been in the audience, is at home as one of my Phone a Friends."
Jeremy Clarkson gave the go ahead to phone Elizabeth, but it was a man's voice that answered when JP called home.
The ITV presenter attempted to relieve the awkward tension by joking: "That was another man just answered your phone, relax, relax, it could be completely innocent."
Once JP's wife picked up, Jeremy stirred the pot by asking: "Can I just confirm that you've got someone there with you?"
The painful moment got viewers talking, with one person taking to social media to ask: "Break time question: who was the man that answered the phone when JP phoned his wife?"
Another added: "Well that's one way to expose your wife's a cheat.. ringing her phone for a question on who wants to be a millionaire and a bloke answering."
A third cringed: "How awkward, phoning his wife for the phone a friend and a man answering, has an affair been exposed."
However, one astute audience member pointed out that the 'mystery man' was actually a voice on an answering machine.
JP managed to walk away from his stint on Who Wants to be a Millionaire with £64k - and his relationship with his wife intact!
