I’m a traveller who moved into a house for the first time – it’s definitely a culture shock, people are not friendly
WHEN it comes to our homes - we all have our own specific comforts we like to have close by.
And one Irish traveller woman has revealed the comforts she hates going without since moving into a house.
Heidi McDongh Clee had lived in a trailer all of her life up until a couple of years ago.
Taking to social media, she revealed the cons of moving into a house with her husband and two children.
NEIGHBOURLY LOVE
The first thing Heidi found odd about living in a house compared to a trailer site was that people didn't talk to each other.
She said: "No one seems to really know their neighbours and who lives next doors."

Heidi notice that people on the street rarely talk to one another unlike on a site where everybody talks to everyone.
"We could pull to the complete other side of the country and not know whose on that place, yard, site or whatever, you go out and talk to each other and get to know everyone," she explained.
"People can live here for years in houses and not know who the person is next door."
SICK BUG
Heidi also revealed that since moving into a house she and her children have gotten more colds than they ever did living in a trailer.
While she wasn't sure the reasons why, she said hedged her bets on it being the central heating.
FREE AS A BIRD
Another issue the traveller had with living in a house is that she doesn't have the freedom to get up and go whenever she wants to - unlike living in a trailer.
"Now that we have the house, we don't move as freely as we could have done," she added.
"It just feels a lot less free."
She said this also goes for getting the kids to play outside.
While on a site, the children would often be outside playing with one another - as all of the parents were keeping an eye on them.
But she said this doesn't tend to happen when living at the house.
"Definitely a culture shock," she captioned the clip.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @h.mccc has since gone viral with over 43k views and 2,100 likes.
Plenty of people took to the comments section to share their thoughts - and many agreed neighbours weren't so chatty anymore.
One person wrote: "I always need to know who my neighbours are. Luckily they’ve always been great."
Another commented: "I don't talk to my neighbours because what happens if we stop getting along? Am I suppose to move?"
"Loving hearing about your life & the traditions, it’s fascinating and fair play to you for sharing," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "You know what your saying about neighbours is so true it’s so sad."
"I miss how it was growing up. Kids all out playing. We knew and interacted with our neighbours,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: "It makes me so sad the number of people that don’t know their neighbours. On our street we take cookies to neighbours, our kids play together, we look after each other but l not in each others business."
