I love wearing fake tan but hate stains it leaves on my sheets – £1.50 wonder buy gets them right out, it’s a cheap fix
A TANNING fan has revealed her top hack for removing stubborn stains from her bedding - and it only costs £1.50.
Hazel Mckinnie, one half of the Wee Scotty Cleaners, regularly shares her cleaning tips on social media.
In a recent TikTok video, the mum of two showed off the bargain buy she swears by to remove fake tan stains from her sheets.
Hazel, 44, said: "This is one for all you fake tan girls.
"Look at my nice white bedding. I had fake tan Friday last night because who doesn’t? It’s the weekend.
"It’s all over my white bedding.
"The one way I get rid of fake tan off my nice white bedding, is this bad boy."
Hazel then holds up a bottle of Astonish mould and mildew remover, which is more commonly for bathrooms and walls.
Applying some over the tan stains, she said: "All you have to do is spray it and it takes it off anything.
"This is better than anything and it is the cheapest stain remover ever.
"Honestly that is so cheap to buy and it lifts all that fake tan off your bed."
Hazel's clip has racked up more than 38,000 views with beauty lovers keen to give the hack a go.
One said: "Good to know. Will get my daughter to buy it in bulk as she's the culprit."
A second wrote: "That's for mould but I'll try it lol, my daughter is famous for getting fake tan over the sheets."
A third added: "Nice hack, I've stained and threw many bedding away."
Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in: "So glad you did fake tan my bedding is terrible."
But others were less convinced by the tip as they feared it would bleack their bedding.
One exclaimed: "It bleached your bedding. Don't use it on colours or they'll be ruined."
Another asked: "Isnt this just bleach?"
And after a concerned cleaning fan asked if it would turn the bedding yellow, Claire insisted: "No as long as you put it straight in the washing machine."
But she did add: "You can only use this technique on whites."
Astonish mould and mildew remover is regularly stocked in Poundland and Home Bargains, but can also be picked up for £1.50 in Sainsbury's, Iceland and Asda.
Hazel and business parter Claire Jenkins run their own laundrette and shop in Moffat, Dumfriesshire, called The Laundry Room.
The duo are also a viral sensation on TikTok (@theweescottycleaners) thanks to their cleaning hacks - with their videos earning them millions of views.
Speaking of their hard work, Hazel said: "We get asked to clean all over the country. But we don't have time for that right now.
