I grew my damaged, shoulder length hair down to my WAIST thanks to 4 tips that are totally free & take seconds to do
PRICEY visits to a trichologist and professional haircare that can set you back hundreds for the full set.
Treating hair loss and tresses that don't seem to grow at all can often leave you with an empty wallet.
However, according to one thrifty blonde, there's no need to spend eye-watering sums to give your hair the love it needs - and it's all thanks to a few tricks that cost absolutely nothing.
The best part? Not only do you not need to apply messy hair oils and these tips don't cost a penny - but they're also super simple and can be easily incorporated into your daily routine.
Offering a helping hand to those who are looking to become a real-life Rapunzel, Amber Pot took to TikTok to demonstrate how she took her hair from damaged and short to long and luscious locks.
As well as previously raving about something called ''the inverted method'', the blonde beauty swears by brushing her waist-length tresses every time before she showers.

Brushing your hair before your shampoo it helps remove any loose hair, detangle knots, and distribute natural oils - and this will also potentially reduce breakage and split ends, explained the pros at Sarah Rosenow salon.
Just as essential, she told viewers in the video, was washing your brushes once a week.
“Cleaning hair brushes helps to keep hair healthy, strong and shiny by distributing natural oils through the hair,” Kate Holden, trichologist, told Boots.
“A dirty hair brush can cause excess oil build-up and make hair look greasy, dull and lifeless.
What's more, the expert warned, ''a dirty hair brush can harbour bacteria, fungi and dead skin cells, which can contribute to scalp irritation, dandruff and other skin conditions''.
When in shower, Amber advised to squeeze out any excess water before applying conditioner - this will help the hair absorb the product better.
Once done, complete the showering process with a cold rinse.
"Using warm water can dissolve lipids and remove most of the conditioners that you added in," Kally Papantoniou, M.D., a dermatologist with Advanced Dermatology PC, told Self.
This essentially means you can condition for 20 to 30 minutes and then immediately rinse away the nutrient-filled products, wasting not just time but also money.
Last but certainly not least was going to sleep with a protective hairstyle, such as a loose plait, and ideally a silk bonnet on top.
During the night your hair will experience an unsettling amount of friction, which can break your tresses apart.
Hairstyles that are kind to your locks
- Loose Braids: Opt for loose, soft braids rather than tight ones to minimise tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
- Low Ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to avoid snagging.
- Messy Bun: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Avoid pulling your hair too tightly and use gentle hair ties.
- Soft Waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
- Half-Up, Half-Down: This style keeps some hair pulled back while leaving the rest down, reducing the strain on your scalp.
- Headbands and Scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
- Loose Plaits for Sleeping: Before bed, loosely plait your hair to prevent tangles and breakage overnight.
Other hairstyles to add to your nighttime routine include a loose low bun, a silk scarf wrap and the viral heatless overnight curls, the experts at Sitting Pretty said.
75p hair mask
Amber also recently shared how a 75p food left her with the silkiest tresses ever.
Instead of spending heaps of money on special treatments and masks, Amber swears by avocado - which you can snap up for around 75p from most supermarkets.
Turns out, the fatty berry is not just good for our health - and goes perfect on a toast - but avocado is also amazing for hair that needs some love.
Avocado is a great source of biotin, and adding this B-complex vitamin back into the diet may help hair to grow more healthily.
A 2015 study discovered that minerals in avocado oil, including potassium and magnesium, may seal cuticle cells, which can help hair appear smooth and shiny and even prevent it from breaking.
All you need to do, she showed, was cut an avocado in half and place a small section of your hair between the halves like a sandwich.
Once done, start pulling the avocado down the hair from your roots and all the way to the bottom of the tresses.
Although Amber didn't specify how long she kept the natural remedy on, some say you should leave avocado in your hair for at least 30 minutes.

It's thought that the longer the fatty fruit sits in your hair, the better the results will be - so it may be worthwhile to use it as an overnight treatment.
The rest is straightforward - hop into the shower, wash out the avocado using shampoo (you might need to do this twice or more if required) and complete the routine with your favourite moisturising conditioner.
