Jake Cornish SLAMMED ITV and accused Love Island of ‘manipulating scenes’ – before returning to show to reunite with ex
JAKE Cornish SLAMMED ITV and accused Love Island bosses of ‘manipulating scenes’ before it was revealed he's returning tot he show to reunite with his ex Liberty Poole.
The 26-year-old shot to fame on the seventh series of the ITV2 dating show in 2021.
Jake and Liberty, 24, who were nicknamed "Jiberty", coupled up on day one and it looked as if they were going to win.
However cracks did start to show, and just days before the final Liberty decided to quit after she saw a clip of him saying that he wasn't attracted to her.
Speaking shortly after his departure from the Love Island villa, Jake said back in 2021: "There's stuff I have spoken to Lib about on camera that hasn't aired about how I was feeling.
"It isn't nice I've been painted this way as a pantomime villain. It isn't the nicest to come across as someone I'm not.

"During the Movie Night they had to bring back a clip from Day Two to make me look bad. I'm sorry but Day Two?
"Everyone's got opinions but that was taken out of context. I had to sit back and take it.
"They've got to make storylines but it isn't nice when you're on the back end. Liberty and I were big parts of the show; it was a way to make something out of it, which is a shame really. At the time I was like 'what the hell?'"
The water engineer also thought that he had "bigger backlash than Liam" - who brought another girl back from Casa Amor, while Jake stayed loyal.
Jake continued to MailOnline: "The Movie Night was the turning point. It went from 0-100 straight away and because it's such an intense environment in there your head just goes into overdrive. It wasn't the nicest of feelings I'll tell you that for a fact.
"It was me on the back end of it for many weeks and trying to deal with it in there, you've got six different opinions all against you, it is going to take a knock-on effect.
"I got a bigger backlash than Liam when I didn't get with any girl and was loyal and I'm the one that's come out the worst – how does that work?"
A spokesperson for ITV said at the time: "The opinions they have, decisions they make and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.
"It is always our intention to produce a show that is a fair and accurate representation of life in the villa."
Last night The Sun exclusively revealed that Jake is one of the Islanders taking part in the All Stars series.
Today it was confirmed on their Instagram account.
"For @jakecornish7, what happened in the Villa stayed in the Villa, but this time, he’s hoping for a girlfriend to take home ❤️ #LoveIsland," the show's official page wrote.
Before heading into the villa, Jake confessed he wouldn't do anything different to his first time around.
Jake said: "There is nothing major I would do differently but I have definitely matured in the two years since first being on the show.
"I look at things differently and respond differently. When it comes to people's opinions, I don’t sit on the fence anymore.
"That is my way of life now, so I will take that into the Villa."
He also opened up about potentially seeing Liberty.
Jake confessed: "Well there is only one and that’s Liberty.
"We never ended with any bad blood between us and everything happens for a reason.
