The 4.4 per cent ABV beer is a fruity brew, with notes of peach, lychee and tropical flavours.

The cask ale was first brewed in 2022 in collaboration with two apprentices studying the brewing course at the University of Nottingham.

It was a big hit amongst punters and soon became a "firm favourite", Greene King said.

Spring Break returns with a new look designed to honour St George's Day.

England's patron saint will be celebrated on April 23.

The new pump clip brands Spring Break as "George and the Flagon", in reference to the dragon St George is famously said to have slain.

Pubs will have the option of switching to the saint inspired clip or sticking with original, and are free to switch between the two.

Amina Ali, Green King brewery brang manager, said: "We are proud to have worked with the National Brewing Apprenticeship Programme for a number of years and Spring Break has been one of the great successes to come out of that partnership.

"Spring Break is a fruity golden ale that complements the spring weather as we transition from the darker, stronger cask ales we've had in the winter."

He continued: "Our seasonal beers are there to support our permanent cask range, offering styles and flavours that are ideal for the time of year and also themed to celebrate special moments in pubs.

"We created the George and the Flagon pump clip to offer flexibility for pubs so that they can celebrate a national day but also have a beer that can be enjoyed over a longer period with interchangeable branding."

The Greene King brewery released its 2025 Fresh Cask Releases calendar of 15 beers in January.

The range includes a mix of "new collaborations, guest favourites and seasonally-themed ales".

They are intended "celebrate the seasons, sporting occasions and collaborations with other brewers".

The seasonal ales are sold to pubs in the usual-sized firkin casks, as well as half-sized 36-pint containers.

Each will be available for a limited time throughout the year.

Greene King says the rotation "enhances the Great British pub experience".
