Chaos as Championship clash descends into huge brawl after Sheffield United star’s moment of madness
SHEFFIELD UNITED'S clash with Coventry descended into chaos as a mass brawl erupted.
With 44 minutes on the clock, Blades star Anel Ahmedhodzic was fouled by Sky Blues striker Norman Bassette.
The Belgian, who had already scored in the game, shouted at the opposition centre-back and lightly grabbed him by the neck as he lied on the deck.
A fuming Ahmedhodzic then jumped to his feet and pushed Bassette in the neck.
He dropped to the floor and the incident sparked a mass brawl with several players involved from both teams.
Sheffield United star Vinicius Souza sprinted across and elbowed Milan van Ewijk in the head, with the Brazilian seemingly lucky to remain on the pitch.
Callum O'Hare, who used to play for Coventry, also had heated words with Jack Rudoni.
Once things had calmed down, Ahmedhodzic was sent off for violent conduct.
Bassette got a yellow and no other cards were given.
