Who is OJ Simpson’s daughter, Sydney?

SYDNEY Simpson has been in the spotlight since she was born, thanks to the high-profile marriage of her parents, OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown.

But since the 1995 trial of Brown had ended, in which Simpson was acquitted, Sydney has retreated from the public eye and has reportedly been living on the down low in Florida.

Who is OJ Simpson's daughter, Sydney?

Sydney Brooke Simpson is OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown's eldest daughter.

She was born on October 17, 1985, in Los Angeles, California.

Sydney used to be in the limelight because of her parents, but she has notably laid low since Brown's death in 1994.

Sydney was only nine years old when her mother died, and she was reportedly sleeping in their family home when Brown, along with her friend, Rod Goldman, was fatally slashed outside the residence.

She and her brother, Justin, were taken into the care of their grandparents, Louis H. Brown and Juditha Brown.

Sydney made efforts to keep herself under the radar after the trial and lived a normal life.

She reportedly graduated from Boston University with a degree in sociology and proceeded to start her own business.

Apart from co-owning a restaurant with Justin, she also manages multiple properties in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she now resides.

What happened to OJ Simpson?

OJ Simpson died on April 10, 2024, at the age of 76.

His family took to social media to announce his passing, confirming that he died of cancer.

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer," they wrote in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter.

"He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

It's unclear what type of cancer Simpson had, but a February 2024 report from NBC Sports noted that he had prostate cancer.

In May 2023, Simpson shared with fans that he had been undergoing treatment and that he was optimistic about his progress.

“In recent years, really recent years, I unfortunately caught cancer. So I had to do the whole chemo thing,” he said at the time.

“I had COVID and cancer at the same time, unfortunately,” he added. “I am over the chemo.

"It looks like I beat it. I’m happy about that.”
