TikToker Rosa Picosa (@rosapicosa) knows how hard it can be to keep a kid-filled home organized.

Thinking about all the hosting parents do during the busy holiday season, she came up with a way to ensure your space looks presentable with short notice.

“It’s time for a crisis clean up,” she began in the clip, describing the all-too-familiar feeling of a messy home with just an hour to spare before guests arrive.

Step one is to light a candle and set a timer to 15 minutes.

Then begin on the first room.

“After you grab an empty laundry basket, we’re headed to the living room.

“Dump anything and everything that doesn’t belong into this basket.”

This will help you consolidate all the clutter quickly, without moving onto other rooms to put things away just yet – as this will distract you from the task at hand.

“We are dumping and going, working as fast as we can.”

While you may get a peek of your messy junk drawer or hamper filled with dirty laundry, Rosa insisted that now is not the time to tend to those chores as they won’t be visible to guests.

“Sticking to our timer keeps us from being distracted by side projects [that] aren’t essential at the moment.”

Once you’ve reigned in all the toys and items that don’t belong, grab a large trash bag and do a trash sweep.

“Go and find all the trash lurking, especially in your hot spots.”

Once the timer is up, it’s time to move onto another room.

“The plan for a crisis clean is to rotate through your house in 15-minute increments.”

Rosa targeted her bathroom next, saying that she was going to do her regular swish and swipe routine in there – resisting the urge to deep clean.

“This is quick and fast, it’s just surface cleaning. It’s not a solution to deep clean your home but it will get you through the week and prep your house for some surprise visitors.”

She advised her followers to target the three most public rooms first: the living room, kitchen, and guest bathroom.

For the kitchen, specifically, she recommended a quick clean of the sink and an empty of the dishwasher so that it was ready to fill again once guests leave.

Viewers loved the method.

“I’m not even a mom and I want to do this! You motivated me to help my mom vacuum and mop the house for Christmas,” one person admitted.

“This is amazing. I’m half way through my pregnancy and get tired after 15 minutes of cleaning,” added another.
