An interior whizz has revealed an £4 trick that can instantly make your pad feel more expensive.

On her @homewithmillie, the woman shared: “Add a voile behind your curtains.

“I stayed in a hotel with this and instantly knew I wanted this in my home.

“It creates such a relaxing feel and makes the room look like a hotel.”

Thankfully it doesn’t need to cost a fortune to achieve the stylish look.

While Millie got hers from Net Curtains Direct, Dunelm sells sheer voile panels to go behind your curtains, with prices starting from £4.

The website states: “Featuring a plain textured finish, this sheer voile curtain comes in a crisp white colour which is perfect for complementing any room style. 

“The sheer design diffuses sunlight while adding privacy to your home.”

Millie had a number of other home tips for making your home look less cheap.

She advised: “Invest in lighting

“I like to use warm bulbs too, creating more relaxing light.”

The home whizz said that faux flowers are a great way to ensure your home looks “put together” at all times.

As an extra attention to details, Millie swaps out her flowers seasonally.

And underneath, she uses place mats she gets from B&M.

Over 2,000 have liked her tips, and many seemed keen to try them out for themselves.

Rather than having all your furniture match, it can actually look nicer, and more expensive, to add some character to your living space.

Decorating with antiques is a great way to make any home look just that bit more expensive.

For a totally unique space you can try mixing antiques and newer finds.
