The BBC pair first welcomed Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson onto the iconic green sofa.

In the last segment of the show, Bobby Brazier was then placed into the studio.

He was invited onto the primetime programme to promote his upcoming return to EastEnders.

However, Alex, 47, made a huge blunder when she introduced the Strictly Come Dancing star.

When hyping up his Walford comeback, she seemed to forget his characters name as she called him 'Freddie Mitchell'.

Linking to a structured voiceover VT, she explained: "Now, in a moment we'll be joined by Bobby Brazier as his character Freddie Mitchell gets ready to return to Albert Square, but first, let's look at his story so far..."

When the show cut back to the studio, Bobby was quick to interrupt the hosts before the interview.

The young actor explained: "By the way, it's Freddie Slater, not Freddie Mitchell. Freddie Mitchell don't exist! Who is that?"

Alex and Jermaine were both left cringing at the awkward blunder before they were forced to apologise to their guest.

Jermaine appeared to be in shock as he said "Oh wow! A BIG error. A big, big error!"

This was whilst Alex profusely apologised as she pleaded: "That is an error, isn't it. A big apology, Bobby."

But Jermaine was keen to brush the incident under the carpet as he then exclaimed: "Let's just push through then, shall we? Let's crack on."

Bobby took a break from the London based soap last year to compete on the celebrity ballroom and Latin dancing competition.

He returns to Albert Square to reprise the role of Freddie Slater alongside soap icon Laila Morse, 78, who plays his his great-grandmother Big Mo.

The last time viewers saw him on-screen, he chose to escape Walford to spend time with his mum Little Mo (played by Kacey Ainsworth).

This was after a stint in prison after the attack on Stacey's stalker Theo Hawthorne (played by William Ellis).

When asked about working with Laila on the set of EastEnders, Bobby revealed that he thought she was a "handful."
