Teen darts sensation Luke Littler through to world championship semi-final

Teen darts sensation Luke Littler has reached the semi-final of the World Darts Championship.

The 16-year-old, from Warrington, won his quarter-final match against Northern Irishman Brendan Dolan at Alexandra Palace in London.

He won the match 5-1 after he had stormed into a 4-0 lead.

Despite the fifth set not going his way, there was no comeback to be for Dolan.

Speaking after his victory, Littler told Sky Sports Darts that he was "glad" to reach the semi-final on his debut in the competition.

"I've earned it and my performances have been well," he said.

"I've threw another 100+ average and my doubles are on 47 per cent, so it's gone well today as well."

He said he had a "good chance" of becoming a world champion if he can "keep it up".

"Now I am dreaming! I'm two games away. I'm definitely thinking about lifting the title," he said.

Littler will now face Rob Cross in his semi final on Tuesday night.

"He was unbelievable on debut as well and so am I. I'm looking forward to playing Rob tomorrow night," he said.

"I didn't like waking up at nine in the morning, so tomorrow chill and come back in the evening."
