I’m a celeb makeup artist with hollow dark under-eye circles – I can help you cover yours, tilting your head is a must
IF you find your dark circles are still prominent no matter how much concealer you apply, this technique may be for you.
A celebrity makeup artist revealed the tricks she uses to brighten up under-eyes for TV.
In her video, Jade Mullett (@jademullettmua) demonstrated each step of her beauty process.
"If you have hollow dark circles like me or if you have puffiness or under-eye bags, you’ve come to the right place because I’m going to help you fix it," the TikToker said.
She explained the importance of having more than one shade of concealer in your makeup bag.
"If you have brown, gray, or green undertones in your eyes, what you need is a peach or pink undertone in your under-eye concealer," Jade told her viewers.
"We’re going to use two different concealers and two different shades, the reason for doing that is that one is working as a color corrector, and the other shade is to brighten."
After applying her eye cream, she began with the color-correcting concealer.
"I’m going to use a brush, holding it at the tail end and just smooth it out my under-eye.," Jade said.
"What that’s going to do is correct, it’s going to neutralize and give you that brighter under-eye that you’re looking for."
She then went in with her brightening shade, pointing out the importance of only using small dots of each concealer.
"You’re just going to very gently buff that product in, making sure you don’t drag or press too hard because we need to be very gentle with that under-eye area," she explained.
Jade also showed her followers the best way to disguise the fluid that gathers under their eyes.
"As we get older, we either can retain the fluid, which forms these under-eye bags or we just sink in and go quite hollow," she said.
Steps for brightening under-eyes
- Apply small dots of peach-toned concealer to under-eyes
- Apply small dots of a brighter shade and blend
- Tilt head and apply a small line of concealer under bags
- Apply setting powder to under-eyes and blend out
"So the little trick here, look at the bottom crease that is just underneath those fluid eye bags.
"Tilt your head down and draw a very fine line with the lighter concealer there, underneath where the little eye bag is, and then bluff and blend that out."
Jade explained that this technique "is not only going to neutralize the under-eye but brighten and help disguise the under-eye bags and fluid."
For her final touch, she added a loose setting powder under her eyes.

"It just smooths everything, sets it in place, and because the powder is so finely milled it won’t seep into wrinkles or fine lines," she said.
"You can just dust off the excess and you’re left with a brighter smoother finish."
