‘Just as good as the Primark ones’ shopper says as she spots 69p Home Bargains buy ‘identical’ to discontinued favourite
IF you were gutted when Primark announced that they were discontinuing the popular cotton pads last year, you’re in luck.
Back in October, a Primark employee revealed that stores would stop selling the disposable cosmetic cotton pads.
Shoppers were totally gutted that the '120pk PS… Cotton Cosmetic Pads’, which cost just 50p, were to be removed from shelves.
But don’t worry - if you’ve got nail varnish that needs removing or make-up you want to take off, you’ll need to head down to Home Bargains as quickly as you can.
If the discontinued Primark buy were a favourite of yours, you’ll be thrilled to know that Home Bargains are now selling an almost identical buy.
Not only are they practically the same, but they’ll cost you just 69p - yes, you heard that correctly.

Beauty fan and shopping lover Frankie Parker recently took to social media to share her first Home Bargains haul of 2024.
She picked up a variety of cheap buys, with all things from cleaning sprays to food and drink.
But she was incredibly impressed with the cheap cotton pads.
In the short clip, Frankie said: “I think it’s been about six weeks so this has been long overdue.”
Frankie then managed to get her hands on the viral £1.99 snack cups, a hot water bottle perfect for keeping cosy this winter, Astonish carpet care spray, as well as some shower gel, soap and toothpaste.
She was also impressed with the Valentine’s, Mother’s Day and Easter items but shortly after, spotted the 69p beauty essential.
As she picked up the cotton pads, she explained: “These are just as good as the Primark ones.
“I feel like going to Primark is such an effort now.”
Not only this, but she also nabbed a £1.99 beauty blender, as she continued: “Katie Hayes recommended these beauty blenders.
“I actually think they’re just as good as Real Techniques.”
Frankie then went on to stock up on a variety of other bargain buys, including cleaning products and pet bits.
As she reached the candles, she spotted the Nature’s Wick range by WoodWick and beamed: “I’ve never tried any of the Woodwick candles but this has made my whole house smell amazing.
“It sounds like burning fire. I would definitely buy that again.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @frankieparker_ just one day ago, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 48,200 views.
Since Primark discontinued the popular cotton pads, they announced that they would be replacing them with a more ‘sustainable’ alternative.
Promoting the more 'sustainable' and all-round 'good for the environment' product, the company explained on social media: "Our cotton pads are being discontinued but we have new reusable cleansing pads in store now."
Since then, Primark has released a statement on the reusable pads.
The website stated: "Goodbye single-use and hello reusable!
"Our reusable cleansing pads have landed in-store and are set to be your new fave skincare tool.
"Now, we know how convenient disposable cotton pads can be in your skincare routine. Take one out the packet, remove your makeup, toss in the bin and done.
"However, as part of our Primark Cares initiative, we want to do more to reduce waste across our business and encourage our customers to do the same."
