Man City vs Chelsea LIVE SCORE: Premier League champions look to bounce back from midweek collapse – latest updates

  • 3 - GOAL!! Man City 0-1 CHELSEA

Oh no, an absolute howler from Khusanov and NONI MADUEKE opens the scoring!

  • 1 - Man City 0-0 Chelsea

Blimey, almost a sensational start for the new boy!

Foden feeds Nunes down the right and he bends a ball in behind a high Chelsea line for Marmoush to run onto and he fires at goal from the edge of the box and Sanchez pushes it away.

The offside flag went up late but almost a dream start.

  • KICK-OFF!

Cole Palmer gets the game underway!

  • Moment's applause

The two sets of players gather around the centre circle to applaud as the club pay their respects to three former players.

Former skipper and club legend Tony Book, Denis Law and Bobby Kennedy all remembered having sadly passed away this month.

The lights are dimmed and a giant tifo of the three players is unfurled as one light beams down on the middle of the pitch as a young choir sing.

    Really, really nice moment actually.

  • Reunited

The teams head out to a great noise and atmosphere inside the Etihad.

It's Enzo Maresca's first visit to the stadium as a head coach since leaving the club as Pep Guardiola's assistant.

The pair share a warm embrace, a hug that goes on for a few seconds with big smiles from both.

  • In the tunnel

The two sides are ready to get going as they queue up in the tunnel.

A real determination on Reece James' face. He's in for a tough night but fingers crossed he comes through.

  • Man City vs Chelsea

Onto tonight's teatime game which gets underway in just under 10 minutes.

And in case you missed the team news a while ago, new boys Abdukodir Khusanov and Omar Marmoush are straight into the Man City team tonight.

While Enzo Maresca has named a front four for Chelsea - so we can expect a rather open game!

  • Bottom half

No change in the bottom four as Ipswich and Wolves were both beaten.

The bad news for them is Everton picked up their second win on the spin and move SEVEN points clear of the sides in 17th and 18th.

Leicester with a chance to climb out the bottom three if they win away at Tottenham tomorrow.

  • The Premier League table

So, the gap at the top remains six points between Liverpool and Arsenal. In reality, there's a much bigger gap between the two teams at present.

Liverpool with that one game in hand too.

Newcastle are up and into fourth after their 3-1 win, three points behind Nottingham Forest who were thumped by Bournemouth - who themselves move sixth.

Man City can jump back into the top four and above Newcastle if they win at 5.30, with Chelsea able to close the gap to third place Forest to just one point if they win at the Etihad.

Massive result for the Toffees and back-to-back wins for the first time this season! Iliman Ndiaye's penalty the difference on the south coast.

  • 90 - GOAL!! Liverpool 4-1 IPSWICH

Something for the visiting supporters to celebrate as Ipswich get on the scoresheet through JACOB GREAVES!

A corner from the left is met by Greaves with a diving header just a few yards out and it's planted beyond Alisson and into the net.

The away fans are loving it!

  • 90+1 - GOAL!! BOURNEMOUTH 5-0 Nottingham Forest

Five-star showing from the Cherries as ANTOINE SEMENYO adds a fifth in stoppage time!

Nottingham Forest crumbling in this second half and the fifth summed up the dire nature of this performance.

Bournemouth win the 50-50 in the centre circle and Tavernier is able to drive 30 yards through the heart of the Forest team before playing in Semenyo on the left.

He cuts in without any challenge and passes the ball into the far corner.

The Forest title charge well and truly thumped this afternoon.

  • NO GOAL!

Southampton's second goal was chalked off for offside.

    Still 3-1 Newcastle.

  • 87 - GOAL!! BOURNEMOUTH 4-0 Nottingham Forest

Four goals for Bournemouth for the second straight weekend and another hat trick - this time for DANGO OUATTARA!

Tavernier - just off the bench - goes for goal from 25 yards out straight down the throat of Sels.

The keeper palms it out to the middle of the box and Ouattara is the quickest to react as the Forest defenders slept, rolling the ball beyond Sels who rushed out to block it.

  • VAR CHECK

They're just checking if Fernandes was offside from the long ball played up to him.

It looks like he might well be leaning off.

    • 🔴 Wolves 0-1 Arsenal 🔴
  • 74 - GOAL!! Wolves 0-1 ARSENAL

You just knew this was coming when the Joao Gomes red card arrived and RICCARDO CALFIORI has it!

Martinelli's cross was headed away poorly and Calafiori is closest to it, smashing a low strike across Jose Sa into the far corner.

A bit of contention around it as Havertz sticks a foot out to get a touch from an offside position but doesn't touch it and it flies in.

But it's goal given and the visitors needed that!

  • From Jordan Davies at Molineux

Arsenal rightly feel wronged, but Kai Havertz has also missed THREE golden opportunities with his head that should have Mikel Arteta's men comfortable in this one.

Instead, they are scrapping it out.
