Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden welcome second child and reveal unique name of their baby son in sweet phototeaser

CAMERON Diaz has welcomed a son into the family alongside husband Benji Madden and daughter Raddix.

Madden shared the joyous news in an Instagram post on Friday night when he also shared his son's name for the first time.

"We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden," the Good Charlotte guitarist (@benjaminmadden) said in the post.

"He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s a really cute," the beaming father continued.

The warm message was posted alongside a colorful drawing with the words "A little bird whispered to me," written at the top.

"We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours. Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!," he wrote.

A BIG SISTER

Diaz, 51, and Madden, 45, have some experience parenting thanks to their 4-year-old daughter, Raddix.

She was born on January 3, 2020, via surrogacy and welcomed into the family with a social media announcement — just like her little brother.

"Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden," the couple wrote.

"She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family."

A LOVE STORY

The couple was introduced to one another by their sister-in-law Nicole Richie at a dinner party.

Richie is married to Madden's twin brother Joel Madden, and they share two children.

"It was one of those things where everyone tells you, 'You just know when you know,'" Diaz said.

By May 2014, the duo started dating; they became engaged in December of that year.

"He walked in the door, and I was like, 'you!' Then I saw him again and I thought, 'Wait a second, still hot!'

Diaz and Madden tied the knot at their home in Beverly Hills, California almost exactly five years earlier, on January 5, 2015.

Diaz announced that she planned to take a step back from acting in 2022 to focus more on her family, despite being one of the highest-paid women in the industry.

"I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now," Cameron told InStyle during a 2020 hiatus from acting.

The viral Instagram post announcing Cardinal Madden's arrival into the family received over 30,000 likes in the first hour it was shared.

"Congratulations! Adorable announcement, love the picture," one fan wrote.

"Thrilled for you! Congratulations and enjoy your sweet addition to your family!" another posted.

Some fans also complimented the couple's unique choice of names for their children.

"Cool name. Cardinal and Sparrow! Congrats to you both!" one fan wrote, referencing Richie and Joel Madden's son (and Cardinal's cousin) named Sparrow.
