Urgent manhunt for ‘violent’ mental health patient who is ‘risk to women’ after he ran from carers in park

AN urgent manhunt has been launched for 'violent' mental health patient who is a 'risk to women' after he ran from his carers in a park five days ago.

Balasankar Narayanan, 44, was last seen at 6.40pm on Sunday when he ran from staff in Ilford, east London.

Narayanan gave his carers the slip in a park while on escorted leave from his mental health care facility.

Scotland Yard has only appealed for help finding Narayanan this morning despite him being on the run for five days.

The Met said: "While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him.

"He can be violent and is considered a risk to women – if you see him please don’t approach him, but call police immediately."

Narayanan has links across London, notably Newham, Greenford, Hammersmith, Highgate and Ilford.

He is also linked to the West Midlands and has also been found in Manchester and the Essex town of Grays.
