I’m 53 and wrinkle-free – your eyes are super important, my layering method has women calling me a ‘skincare role model’
A MOM in her fifties has revealed the skincare routine she swears by for defying the signs of aging.
She appeared to be wrinkle-free as she shared the beauty products that she layers to keep the skin around her eyes youthful.
Lila (@lisa50isthenewfword) boasts over 153,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares tips for mature women.
The 53-year-old looked in good spirits as she responded to a comment that was written underneath one of her previous videos.
“Can you please make a video about products you use for your under eyes, you’re my new skincare role model,” the comment read.
Lila was fresh-faced as she thanked the commenter and began to explain her routine.
“I always use an eye serum or eye cream,” she said. “I use it every day and night. I sometimes layer them up as well.
“One of my favorite go-to's is this OSEA eye serum.”
The beauty enthusiast held up the serum before starting to apply it around her eyes.
OSEA’s Ocean Eyes Age-Defying Serum is available from the brand’s website for $58.
“It has this rollerball and I keep it in my skincare fridge,” Lila said.
“It’s cooling and definitely depuffs my eyes. I let that soak in completely before applying my eye cream.
“The two I’m using right now is the SkinFix one which is really moisturizing.
“I’m also using the Revive,” she said holding the bottle toward the camera.
“This one I really love because one, it has a really cool applicator but two, it has SPF in it.
“It really brightens up my eyes.”
SkinFix’s Triple Lipid-Boost 360° eye cream costs $44 from the brand’s website.
Revive’s Sensitif eye cream with SPF is $165 from Revive Skincare.
Lila revealed she also uses an “inexpensive vibrating device” from TikTok shop.
A similar gadget with a 4.5-star rating is available from Amazon for $40.
“It has a little bit of LED light therapy but really not much at all,” she said.
“The vibration is what I like about it because it’s going to reduce the tension in my eyes and massage the products in at the same time.
“I also believe in Gua Sha for your face but also for your eye area.
“Gently massage it, what you’re doing is just helping with drainage, puffiness, and lifting and wrinkles," she said demonstrating.
Gua Sha tools can be found on Amazon for around $7.
“Then there are some eye exercises that I like to do,” Lila said as she placed two fingers on her forehead.
“I like to open my eyes real big without lifting my eyebrows.
“This helps with my forehead wrinkles.
“I also like to lift the bottom eyelid like this,” she said slightly squinting.
“That will help with wrinkles underneath it and the hollowness that some people get underneath their eyes.
“Then at night, I use an eye moisturizer that has retinol in it.”
Lila held up Murad Retinal ReSculpt Eye Treatment which costs $92 from Asos.
“I know it seems like a lot but I don’t do everything every single day except the serum and cream,” she said.
“Those are a must daytime and nighttime.
“Massage is a good thing to do at least a couple times a week and those eye exercises.
“I actually do my eye and face yoga in the car on my way to my day job.
“I know people are probably looking at me as they’re driving by and think I look crazy, but I don’t care because I don’t know them.”
Lila urged her followers to have a dedicated skincare routine for their eyes in the caption of the video.
“Your eyes have the thinnest skin on your face and as you get older that skin gets even thinner,” she wrote.
“So it’s super important to take very good care of your eyes.
“Skincare combined with Gua Sha and eye exercises really give you the most benefit.”
