Cops hunt for missing Jacob Baer, 7, as they discover ‘some of boy’s belongings’ in frozen Wisconsin river in Two Rivers

COPS have discovered a "boy's belongings" in a frozen river as the desperate hunt for a missing seven year old continues.

Jacob Baer was reported missing last night by his heartbroken family after he was last seen hours earlier around the Two Rivers area in Wisconsin.

Young Jacob - a 3ft 5in and 56 pounds elementary school student - vanished at around 4:36pm from around Veteran's Park, 1818 School St.

Cops quickly launched an appeal to help find the missing boy with the Two Rivers Police Department sharing a tragic update early this morning.

They have found several items which they fear may have belonged to Jacob.

The police department posted on Facebook: "Law enforcement located several items believed to belong to Jacob in the water of the West Twin River last night.

"A search of this area of interest and additional resources are being coordinated for operations later this morning.

"We will update you with further information as it becomes available."

Investigations are ongoing into if the items are his after they were collected by police in the water of the West Twin River.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources have now identified the river as “an area of interest”.

The Coast Guard Ice Search and Rescue Team and the local fire department was also deployed to help search the area.

Jacob, from Manitowoc County, has blue eyes and shaggy blond hair.

His family say he was last seen wearing a black jacket with green on the hood, black pants, and size 13 RealTree camouflage shoes.
