My friend paid £27 just for speedy shipping on her dress for my wedding… I still banned it & people say I’m a bridezilla
EVERYONE knows there is one main rule when it comes to picking an outfit as a guest for a wedding - don’t wear white.
A bride has revealed how she banned her friend from wearing the dress she had picked out, because she deemed it to be too close to the line for her special day.
What made the incident more awkward was the wedding guest had paid £27 for a speedy delivery so it would arrive on time.
The bride uploaded a photo of the offending dress to Reddit and asked people’s opinion on if she did the right thing.
She wrote: “Am I a bridezilla for saying this dress is too white for a guest to wear to my wedding?
“A friend of mine who is coming to my wedding (which is this coming Saturday!) asked if this dress was 'too white.'

"I immediately said yes, but now I’m feeling guilty because she said she paid $35 (£27) extra for expedited shipping so it would be here in time for my wedding.
“She said her friend told her it was fine, but she seems to still care what I think. So, am I a bridezilla/AH for this?
“For reference, I’m wearing a light ivory traditional floor length wedding gown. My ceremony is on the beach.
“Thank you in advance.”
The bride included a photo of the dress, which was definitely white as the main colour, but with a pink floral design decorating it.
The off-the-shoulder dress had a sweetheart neckline and fell to just above the knee.
Many people were quick to chime in with their views about the wedding guest dress and lots of people supported the decision.
One wrote: “Not a bridezilla. Definitely inappropriate for a wedding. It looks like a dress the bride would wear for a pre-wedding event. I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that personally.”
Another added: “Yeah, I almost wore this dress for my bridal shower, super inappropriate for a guest.”

A third commented: “You know, she easily could have asked you BEFORE she paid for expedited shipping. I think she waited to back you into the corner.
“Here’s my take- you just answered a question, not the bridezilla. If you hadn’t been warned and saw her and made a comment to her day of, that would make you the bridezilla.”
The bride replied to people’s support and gave more details about her decision.
The woman explained: “She was obviously worried or she wouldn’t have asked, but I’m not worried about being ‘upstaged’ or anything, I’m just worried people will be hateful to her, since about half the people commenting here think it’s inappropriate, and half don’t.”
According to an American Express survey, the average wedding guest spends around £1,000 attending a wedding.
