I bought a grubby second-hand Mini for a bargain £300… I’ll double my money after cheap tweaks
A CAR dealer has revealed how he will double his money after buying a grubby second-hand Mini for £300.
All the motor needed was a few quick tweaks to get it back to showroom-ready condition.
Matthew Goodwin, who runs High Peak Autos, snapped up the "super-cheap" little car at a bargain price.
The 2004 model had only done around 90,000 miles, which isn't too bad over the course of 20 years.
As a little bonus, too, it came with a rare number plate, which Matthew estimated was probably "worth a couple of hundred quid".
He added: "It's got alloys, which are very grubby.

"The bodywork looks like I've painted it in the dark.
"But you can't really go wrong.
"They're just really good fun to drive."
Looking inside, he found the interior "very dirty and grubby", even to the extent that there were a few orange peels inside.
That being said, there wasn't any significant wear to the upholstery, meaning it only needed a good vacuum and clean to get it ship shape.
And under the bonnet there was "nothing obvious" that would suggest any mechanical issues.
In the end, Matthew only had to spend a total of £279.40 to do it up, which included two mini-valets, new plates and an MOT and oil change.
He added: "I could have saved some money and done it myself, but I don't have time for that.
"This car owes me the princely sum of £624.40.
"I always knew it was cheap at £300.
"I've got to be able to double my money."
And double it he did, putting the car up for sale at £1,295 - a profit of £670.60.
It comes after an Audi saloon owned by a Hollywood A-lister went up for sale at just £25,000.
