Chief Inspector Wong Yu-fai of the force’s organised crime and triad bureau said on Wednesday that officers apprehended the latest suspects, comprising four men and a woman, between Sunday and Tuesday.

Three of the men, aged 20 to 29, were suspected of either being among the assailants or acting as drivers and planners for the attack.

The other man, 51, and the woman, 31, were accused of sheltering some of the other suspects.

Wong said one of the latest suspects had been charged, while at least two of the recent arrestees were expected to be prosecuted soon.

The other eight were arrested shortly after the vicious attack on the 50-year-old correctional services officer outside Pik Uk Prison on Clear Water Bay Road last week.
