A BEAUTY enthusiast has revealed the DIY hair mask recipe that instantly repaired her damaged tresses.
She applied a mix of four kitchen staples to her blonde locks to make them soft and shiny.
Audrey Dunn (@naturalblondi_) has over 6,400 followers on TikTok, where she shares holistic health tips.
She posted footage of how “dry and damaged” her hair looked before demonstrating how she made a restorative mask.
“One egg, two spoonfuls of coconut oil, three spoonfuls of olive oil, a drizzle of honey,” read the text over the screen.
“Mix it real good.”
Audrey combined all the ingredients in a bowl until it was a smooth yellow consistency.
The beauty guru then used her hands to apply the mixture to her dry hair from roots to ends.
Once satisfied that all of her hair was covered with the mask, she clipped it up using a hair claw.
“Put it up and leave in for as long as you’d like,” she said.
“Shampoo twice, condition once.
“Air dry or style.”
She gushed that her hair was “much better” after using the hair mask to repair her damaged tresses.
“I would say it should be on at least 30 minutes! I keep mine in for a while though,” she said.
She ran her fingers through her glossy locks to show how healthy they had become.
Audrey said those who don’t have olive oil can swap it for avocado oil instead when making their hair masks.
The video racked up over 6,500 likes after going viral and hundreds of people took to the comment section.
“Wait what does olive oil do for your hair?” one person asked.
“It contains fatty acids that provide deep moisture, prevent split ends, and stimulate growth!” Audrey replied.
“Can syrup work for replacing the honey?” another quizzed.
“Honey contains a protein that promotes hair growth and heals breakage so I don’t think syrup would work the same tbh,” Audrey said.
“What if I don’t have olive oil or avocado oil, do you think apple cider vinegar would work?" a third asked.
“You could add more coconut oil or argan!” Audrey responded.
"ACV [apple cider vinegar] will cleanse the hair but it won’t provide hydration/ repair like the oils will."
