Woman dies in UK city centre hotel as forensics swoop & guests ‘warned not to leave’ their rooms

A WOMAN died in a city centre hotel yesterday with guests "warned not to leave" their rooms.

The female was found unconscious inside the Lord Nelson Hotel on Hotham Street in Liverpool at around 1.40pm.

Emergency services attended the scene but she was pronounced dead.

The force said an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the cause of her death.

It was reported locally that guests staying in the hotel were told not to leave their rooms.

One man said he had no idea when he would be able to get back inside his second floor room.

Forensics in white suits were seen going in and out of the hotel.

Part of the street was also cordoned off by the police.
