My easy green DIY hair mask is the key to growth and thickness – you can pick up the ingredients at the grocery store
A HOMEMADE hair treatment has helped one woman grow enviably long and thick tresses.
She mixed three ingredients that can be bought at the grocery store with an oil to make a green hair mask.
Sharon Nwosu (@dailydoseofshaz_) has garnered almost 19,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips.
She stretched her hair to show the length when straight before revealing the DIY treatment that she swears by for growth.
“Green hair mask for growth and thickness,” the text over the screen said.
She blended one fresh aloe vera leaf, with an avocado, a banana, raw honey, and an ayurvedic-infused oil.
Walmart sells fresh aloe vera leaves for $2.18 each, avocado is available for 78 cents, a banana is 27 cents, and raw honey is $5.32.
Sharon revealed on YouTube that she made her ayurvedic-infused oil by mixing the below ingredients:
Herbal hair mix oil, organic rosemary leaves, horsetail, moringa powder, black cumin seeds, Fenugreek powder, Amla powder, brahmi powder, cloves, jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, peppermint oil, and tea tree oil.
An already-made ayurvedic hair oil is available on Amazon for $46.
The mask ingredients became a smooth green consistency which could easily be applied once her hair was sectioned into four.
Sharon recommended using the mask before shampooing but used a spray bottle to dampen her locks before applying it.
She used her hands to apply the thick green mixture from the roots of her hair to the tips.
“Steamer cap for 30 mins,” the text over the screen said.
The same steaming cap is available on Amazon’s Luxebell store for $22.
The beauty guru didn’t reveal the products that she used to wash out the mask once the time was up.

“Frequent use (aka bi-weekly or once a month depending on your hair protein tolerance) will promote hair growth and scalp health.”
“It makes my hair stay moisturized longer in my protective style,” she added.
Over 1,100 people liked the video and some viewers said in the comment section that they were eager to make the mask for themselves.
According to Healthline, aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E which all contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair.

Honey has emollient and humectant properties that can help to add shine and moisture.
It also contains around 0.5% protein which can help to strengthen hair for reduced breakage.
