I made a DIY Christmas gift basket for the man in my life using only Dollar Tree buys, it cost less than $20 for the lot
THE holiday season can often become a little draining on your bank account.
One woman shared the DIY Christmas basket she created using all Dollar Tree items.
In her video, Icess (@icessr) showed her followers an example of the hack, which she tailored for her boyfriend.
"Let’s make a Christmas basket for the dudes in our lives using only stuff from Dollar Tree under $20," the TikToker said.
For her first step, Icess decided on a basket and a color theme for her gift.
"Let’s start with the basket to hold all the goodies, his favorite color is blue so that’s what I went with," she told viewers.
Icess recommended lining the basket with tissue paper "to make it look clean and professional."
To begin, she located a small toy that tugged on the nostalgia strings and doubled as a car accessory.
"The first item is going to be one of these Hot Wheels and bonus points if you could find his car or at least one of his favorites," she explained.,
For her next addition, Icess opted for a more practical gift, sticking with her color theme.
"Next up, these new glass bathroom sets that Dollar Tree just came out with," she said, holding up a toothbrush holder.
Also for his bathroom, she picked up a "scrubby," showing her followers the countless options available.
"Another amazing find is these Disney plushies, they also have mini Squishmellows and cool characters, I went with Cookie Monster," she said.
Icess returned to the idea of car accessories for her next budget purchase.
"To match the Hot Wheels we’ll get a mini trash can for his car," she said.
She also chose some practical items such as a magic towel, which can fit in the palm of your hand but expands when wet.
"Christmas season is cold so we’re going to get some lip balm and some fuzzy socks so he can match with you," Icess concluded.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the idea.
