Four found dead in house in Norfolk named by police
Police have named a man, woman and two girls who were found dead last Friday in a house near Norwich.
Norfolk police identified the man as Bartłomiej Kuczyński, 45, and the woman as Kanticha Sukpengpanao, 36. The girls, believed to be Kucyzński’s daughters, were identified as Jasmin Kuczyńska, 12, and Natasha Kuczyńska, nine..
Formal identification has yet to take place, the force said in a statement.
Postmortem examinations carried out on Sunday found that Sukpengpanao died as a result of stab wounds to the neck, while Kuczyński died of a single stab wound to the neck. Postmortem examinations for the two girls will be carried out on Wednesday.
Detectives have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
On Saturday, Norfolk police confirmed it had referred itself to the police watchdog after having prior contact with the household.
On 14 December last year officers had been involved in a missing persons inquiry at the house in Costessey, a north-west suburb of Norwich.
Last Friday, officers failed to respond to a 6am 999 call from the house. An hour later the force did respond to a call from a member of public who expressed concerns for the welfare of those inside the house.
When officers forced entry at 7.15am they found the four bodies.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct said it had launched an investigation into Norfolk constabulary over its contact with Kuczyński.
Charmaine Arbouin, regional director at the watchdog, said: “Following a mandatory referral from the force we have decided to investigate and will be examining if the force’s handling of the contact they had with the man was appropriate and in line with force policy, training and procedures.
“We will be making contact with the families of the deceased to explain our role. Our sympathies are with the families and friends of the deceased and all those affected by this incident.”
