Dancing On Ice finalist Miles Nazaire fights back tears as he falls on the ice and tells Vanessa Bauer ‘I’m so sorry’
DANCING On Ice finalist Miles Nazaire fought back tears tonight after he slipped on the ice as he battled for the trophy.
Miles and Vanessa Bauer skated to Turn To Stone by Ingrid Michaelson for their opening performance in the ITV show's 2024 finale, when he skidded and fell.
The gutted Made In Chelsea star could be seen whispering "I'm so sorry" to Vanessa as they skated back to the judges.
Host Stephen Mulhern told the pair: "I am gutted that you fell Miles.
"But to give you credit you got straight back on, you keep apologising!"
"I let her down, that was a stupid miskate," Miles said.
He added to Vanessa again: "I'm so so sorry."
Consoling him, Vanessa said: "The whole series you've been amazing every single week and you are a star obviously."
Christopher Dean told Miles had skated the routine 20 times without slipping.
Judge Oti Mabuse added: "I'm so heartbroken, I'm so so heartbroken.
"That was absolutely brilliant before the fall, do not be disheartened by this, you are brilliant, you have been brilliant throughout the series, I'm sure you'll be fine."
The judges awarded Miles a score of 38 out of 40 points.
He might have taken a stumble, but fans were still rooting for Miles and Vanessa.
One shared on X, formerly Twitter: "Such a shame that Miles slipped - that was such a beautiful routine and so very well performed. It’s just so frustrating that not all mistakes are so meticulously judged…."
Miles faced Adele Roberts and Ryan Thomas for the 2024 title.
The show was earlier thrown into chaos after Greg Rutherford's accident in rehearsals on Sunday ruled him out of the final.
