Coronation Street star QUITS soap and already filmed final scenes amid ongoing cast exodus
CORONATION Street is losing yet another star after a cast exodus over the past number of weeks.
The ailing soap will soon be saying goodbye to some of its fan-favourite characters including Shelley King, who The Sun revealed this week is leaving after 11 years.
But now Paddy Bever has confirmed he has quit the cobbles for good as Max Turner.
The actor, 22, has already filmed his final scenes as the son of David Platt.
In a statement, he said: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities.
"I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.”
He continued to The Mirror: “It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show.
“This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”
Coronation Street can expect to see Paddy's final scenes as Max air early this Spring.
A source close to the soap told The Mirror that Paddy told bosses he wouldn't be renewing his current contract when it expired.
The young actor filmed his final scenes at the end of last year.
His exit comes after five stars — Charlotte Jordan, Sue Cleaver, Sue Devaney, Colson Smith, and Luca Toolan — have announced they are leaving or being written out since November 2024.
