However, it seems that Netflix is commissioning brand new instalments of a string of huge shows in a bid to boost content.

This maybe an effort to win back fans and retain subscribers after a fall last year following price hikes.

Survival of the Thickest will be given a second series by Netflix.

The comedy-drama series was created by Michelle Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, based off the former's biography of the same name.

The first series dropped in July 2023 and the streamer announced in February the following year that a follow-up was given the green light.

It follows the story of a plus-sized woman who was recently made single.

She struggles as a fashion stylist as she tries her best to rebuild her life following the breakup.

Berlin

Money Heist was the five series drama that became a globat hit for the streaming giant.

Fans were sceptical when it was given a prequel series, but they were soon impressed by the Spanish crime thriller.

It follows the story of Berlin, set many years before the events of the original drama.

The first series came onto the platform in December 2023 and an announcement of a second instalment was confirmed in February 2024.

The animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender was first released in February 2024.

After the success of One Piece, based off the Japanese manga series off the same name, Netflix clearly wanted to expand their repertoire.

Back in March of this year, fans received a video from the streamer which featured the cast of the series.

In the clip, they announced the show had been renewed for a further two series to carry on the plotline.

Maestro In Blue

Maestro In Blue first debuted in Greece on the Mega Channel.

Since its debut, in 2023 Netflix acquired the rights for the global release of the show.

10 more episodes across two series of the show where then renewed after it proved to be a hit with fans.

The six episodes of the follow up instalment were dropped on May 16, whilst viewers can expect to see the third season make its premiere in the Autumn of 2024.

Aummaraporn and Phandintong created the hit Thai crime drama series.

It focuses on a trio of friends after their start-up company goes bust and they are left with a huge debt to repay.

In order to do this, they exploit the area of donations to Buddhist temples, a sector left mostly uninterfered by regulation.

The second series was given the green light in May 2024 after fans praised the first series in March the same year.

Heartbreak High

Heartbreak High was the gritty drama that was a major hit in Australia and the UK in the 90's.

Netflix decided to give the series a soft reboot as a contemporary teen comedy-drama series as they enlisted the services of Hannah Carroll Chapman.

Three friends serve as the focus of the show as they attend Hartley High whilst navigating the pressures of teenage life such as friendship, sex, and love.

The new series first had its debut in 2022, which was followed by a follow-up in April almost two years later.

In May, Netflix later announced the show has been given one last series that will be streamed in the near future.

The Witcher

Henry Cavill first starred in the hit fantasy drama series which was based off Andrzej Sapkowski's best-selling novel of the same name.

It became of the the most popular series on the entire streaming platform when it first made its way onto screen in 2019.

Later, the Superman actor was replaced by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia as Netflix renewed the show for a fifth series to serve as the final edition.

But first, fans eagerly anticipate the release of the fourth instalment which began production in the UK in April 2024.

Netflix conducted a huge promotional campaign for the series and judging by fan reaction, it certainly lived up to the hype.

It was created by Game Of Thrones producer D.B. Weiss and David Benioff based off the Chinese novel series of the same name.

On May 15 2024, the streaming giant announced the series was given the greenlight for a follow-up after immense popularity following the debut in March of the same year.

However, some fans are worried after Netflix only announced additional episodes.

They think there is a possibility of only three or four episodes will air to wrap up the rest of the story to cover two novels worth of work.

However, the creators soon clarified that had reached a deal with Netflix for multiple new series.
