A STYLE-ENTHUSIAST has been left reconsidering her future outfit choices after suffering a wardrobe malfunction at work.
She had been wearing a fashionable mini-dress in the lab when she unexpectedly embarrassed herself in front of all of her colleagues.
Aileen (@aileendelaney) has garnered over 17,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares studying a physics PhD while working full-time in a lab.
The 27-year-old took to the social media platform to recreate the moment that left her red-faced during a busy work day.
She stood awkwardly in the center of the lab wearing a brightly colored tiered dress with her staff pass hanging around her neck.
“This is the story of how I accidentally just flashed everyone,” she said. “And a lesson for anyone wearing a dress at work.
“I bent down to get something and on the way back up my dress hooked over my lanyard and all the way up.”
Aileen looked mortified as she showed how the lanyard pulled the bottom of her dress up to her chest.
She mistakenly exposed her underwear to everyone else who was working in the lab.
“You can see where that was going,” she said.
The physicist pulled her dress down with such force that it caused her lanyard to fall to the ground.
Her eyes bulged as she stood speechless over what had just happened.
“Be careful this is not a drill,” she captioned the post.
Aileen revealed that she usually wears shorts under her dress if she’s going to be moving around a lot.
“[Crying] I don’t know why I thought it was safe today,” she said.
The video was watched over 8,900 times and racked up hundreds of likes from people who were able to relate to the fashion fail.
Many viewers took to the comment section in hysterics and admitted they had similar clothing mishaps in public.
Among them was also one person trying to reassure her that no one in the office had noticed the wardrobe malfunction.
“I bet that 50 percent of the office don’t care [laughing],” they wrote.
“Let’s hope it wasn’t a commando kind of day [crying],” another quipped.
“Haha [laughing] cute dress though,” a third said.
“This happened to me too [crying],” a fourth chimed in. “Tragic isn’t it haha,” Eileen replied.

“Not quite the same but I was pantsed once in my scrubs when my pocket caught on a cabinet handle as I was coming up from a squat,” another commented.
“[Laughing] Oh dear,” Eileen responded.
