Beloved BBC One competition series returning to screens this month with brand new line up
THE Great British Sewing Bee is returning for its tenth series in the coming weeks.
Each series starts off with a group of amateur sewers who are whittled down as the competition moves along.
Similar to The Great British Bake Off, each episode features three challenges within an overall theme.
This includes the Pattern Challenge, in which the judges give the contestants the same pattern which they must follow as accurately as possible.
Meanwhile, the Transformation Challenge sees the sewers each receive an identical existing garment to reimagine as a specified different type of garment.
The third Made-to-measure challenge features the sewers designing and creating their own garments, while adjusting their patterns to fit human models.

Since its debut, The Great British Bee has had a number of different hosts including Claudia Winkleman, Joe Lycett and Sara Pascoe.
Next up to take the reins is Ghosts and Stath Lets Flats actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe, who was also the runner-up on Taskmaster series 15.
Series 10 of The Great British Sewing Bee will return to BBC screens on Tuesday, May 21 at 9pm with judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young returning.
Having launched in 2013, the show originally aired on BBC Two for four series before going into a three-year hiatus.
It returned in 2019 and moved onto BBC One from 2020 onwards.
Last year’s grand finale saw Asmaa, Mia and Tony R go head-to-head to be crowned the winner.
In the end, Asmaa emerged victorious after a closely-fought contest under the scrutiny of Esme and Patrick.
