Fresh blow to Prince Andrew as disgraced royal faces being dragged back into Jeffrey Epstein scandal in court

PRINCE Andrew faces being dragged back into the Jeffrey Epstein scandal tomorrow when a former Barclays boss tries to overturn a regulator's ban.

The Duke is named in High Court papers as Jes Staley challenges the 2023 bar on holding senior UK financial positions over his links to the paedophile.

As well as Andrew, 65, prolific fraudster Bernie Madoff and the UK’s ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, are reportedly mentioned.

Mr Staley’s hearing against the Financial Conduct Authority ban will take place tomorrow morning in the Upper Tax Tribunal.

It will examine whether he misled Barclays and if he stayed in touch with Epstein after Staley became the bank’s CEO in 2015.

Mr Staley, 68, claimed not to be close to the billionaire — when 1,000 emails between the pair suggested he saw Epstein as “one of our deepest friends”.

The FCA investigation cost the American his job and a £1.8million fine.

Mr Staley has always denied knowing about Epstein’s crimes.

His challenge will almost certainly reopen questions about Andrew’s relationship with Epstein, who died in jail while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges in 2019.

The Duke, who was pictured with him two years after a 2010 conviction, has denied wrongdoing.
